Dragon's Dogma 2 guide · The first settlement reached after the prologue

Melve is a fortified village, half-destroyed by a dragon attack, that serves as the Arisen's first major hub after the tutorial. Players can rest, regroup, purchase gear, and initiate several early-game side quests involving the village's recovery and its leader, Ulrika. Returning here later in the story triggers an attack by a Lesser Dragon and unlocks the Mystic Spearhand vocation.

Tips

Break all wooden crates and barrels throughout the ruined parts of town, as they frequently contain healing herbs and gold.
Look around the ruins at night to spot the distinct yellow glow of Golden Trove Beetles, which increase your carry capacity when consumed.
Talk to Sigurd immediately after the dragon battle in Melve to unlock the Mystic Spearhand vocation without having to track him down later.
