The Dreg Heap is the opening area of the The Ringed City expansion, accessed via a bonfire at the Kiln of the First Flame or the Painted World of Ariandel. Players navigate a chaotic convergence of ruined lands that collapses underfoot, plagued by an Angel firing high-damage holy projectiles from the sky. To proceed through the abyssal depths, the player must seek out summoner husks to neutralize the Angels and make their way down to the Earthen Peak ruins and the Demon Prince boss.

Harald Legion Knight

Massive dark-armored warrior with an open void for a head; a plunging attack from above triggers an instant critical animation that deals massive damage.

Angel

Flying celestial entity that summons relentless barrages of holy light; completely invulnerable until its corresponding fleshy summoner pupa is found and killed on the ground.

Angel Pupa / Grotesque Hollow

Weak to Physical damage

Rooted, helpless summoner controlling an Angel; killing it permanently destroys its linked Angel for the playthrough.

Lothric Thief

Weak to Physical damage

Aggressive hollows using daggers and thrall hoods, ambushing from shadows around the collapsed cathedral.

Shops and people

Stone-humped Hag: Sells embers, moss, and basic consumables; can be spoken to for dialogue regarding the Dreg Heap and Prince Lothric
Lapp: Friendly amnesiac knight in heavy armor found near the crumbling tower; offers Titanite Slabs and Siegbraw through his questline

Tips

Falling from great heights onto ash piles negates all fall damage, allowing you to drop safely through collapsed structures.
You do not need to fight the Angels directly; prioritize sprinting between cover until you locate the fleshy pupa host hidden nearby.
Perform plunging attacks on the gaping heads of the Harald Legion Knights to eliminate them in one or two hits.
