Walkthrough
The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.
-
1
Lodge Preparations
Following your arrival from Liberl, wake up after sparring Anelace, head downstairs for lunch, then visit the upstairs bedroom before returning down to finalize preparations by talking to Phyllis for rations and cooking and Robert for orbments. Head outside to meet Kurt at the west exit signpost.
Tip: Talk to both Phyllis and Robert to ensure you are fully stocked before setting off.
-
2
Balstar Channel Training
Enter the underground channel, make use of the entrance rest station, and traverse the walkways and stone platforms across five map screens while practicing Chain Crafts against Ripple Frogs, Sticky Slugs, and Doom Bakers. Open chests along the way to gather Mind 1, Attack 1, Cast 1, Silver Earring, Proxy Puppet, Surprise Cookie, All Sepith x10, and multiple Tear Balms, EP Charges, and Reviving Balms.
Key fight: Balstar Channel MobsTip: Fire and Wind elemental arts work exceptionally well against the local enemies.
-
3
Instructor Kurt's Trial
Reach the deepest gate of Balstar Channel to face Instructor Kurt Nardin as your concluding practical exam. Keep Estelle casting basic offensive arts from afar while Anelace uses Fallen Leaves to boost STR and lands physical crafts.
Key fight: Kurt Nardin (Balstar Channel End)Tip: Heal immediately whenever either character's HP dips below 40% to survive Kurt's heavy knockback crafts.
-
4
Midnight Assault
Return to the lodge for evening rest, then immediately choose to wake up when gunfire sounds in the dead of night. Head into the lobby to fight the invading Jaeger Swordsman using your saved CP for Estelle and Anelace's S-Crafts before sleeping gas overtakes you.
Key fight: Lodge Jaeger Swordsman (Midnight Raid)Tip: Use stored CP right away to unload S-Crafts and sustain HP with Tear Balms.
Watch out: Choosing to sleep in or losing to the Jaeger forfeits permanent bonus BP.
-
5
Escape Saint-Croix Forest
Wake up disarmed inside an enemy tent deep in Saint-Croix Forest, and answer Anelace's prompt with "The Attacking Jaegers" / "The mercenary assailants". Before departing, examine the tent to pick up 5 Teara Balms and 2 EP Charges, then search the trails, bridges, and scattered caches to recover Fencer, Break Rod, 2x Reinforced Leather, and 2x Enhanced Boots, alongside chests holding Breeze, Nature's Bounty, EP Charge, and 3 Thelas Balms before defeating the Jaeger Woman at the exit pass.
Key fight: Saint-Croix Forest Mobs & GatekeeperTip: The starting tent acts as a free full-heal rest station whenever you need recovery.
Watch out: Rolling Thorns explode upon death for around 750 physical damage, so eliminate them from range.
-
6
Lodge Investigation
Return to find the lodge ransacked, then inspect all five physical clues on the first floor: Kurt's spear/bloodstain, the broken communicator, the food barrels, the shattered window, and the map board. Once finished, deduce the next step by selecting "Move to a New Base" / "Contact Headquarters".
Watch out: Inspect every single clue before making your deduction to secure your bonus BP.
-
7
Grimsel Fortress Infiltration
Proceed to Grimsel Fortress 1F to throw power levers and terminals that raise heavy barricade gates, then navigate the unlit dark rooms on 2F and 3F. Open chests throughout the fortress to collect EP 1, Tear Balm, 2 EP Charges, an ID Unit, and Night Goggles to clear darkness penalties.
Tip: Equip the Night Goggles as soon as you find them on 2F/3F to prevent total darkness and eliminate combat penalties.
-
8
Conquering the Fortress Sanctum
Use the ID Unit to bypass the command doors on the top floor and confront the disguised Jaeger Leader. Disperse your characters so Kurt's cleaving arts do not hit both at once, empower attacks with Anelace's buffs, cast single-target arts, and unleash full S-Breaks to conclude your training.
Key fight: Grimsel Fortress Jaeger Leader (Kurt in Disguise)Tip: Equip your recovered Break Rod and Fencer before initiating the encounter.

Key fights
Enemies: Ripple Frog, Sticky Slug, Doom Baker
Threats: Low-tier status effects and mobbing
Weaknesses and resistances: Vulnerable to general elemental arts (Fire/Wind)
Tactics: Excellent practice grounds to trigger the new Chain Craft mechanics with Estelle and Anelace.
Enemies: Kurt Nardin
Threats: High physical STR, defense-boosting skills, and knockback crafts that disrupt cast arts
Tactics: Keep Estelle casting basic offensive arts from a safe distance while Anelace buffs STR (Fallen Leaves) and uses crafts. Use healing items/arts if HP drops below 40%.
Rewards: Large drop of all sepith varieties; drops a high-tier quartz for slot integration
Enemies: Jaeger Swordsman
Threats: Heavy single-target blade strikes capable of 2-shotting unarmored characters
Weaknesses and resistances: Susceptible to offensive arts; neutral to standard elements
Tactics: Loss does not produce a Game Over, but winning is needed for bonus BP. Utilize stored CP immediately for Estelle and Anelace's S-Crafts. Keep HP topped up with Tear Balms.
Enemies: Rolling Thorn, Bush Lancer, Shining Pom, Jaeger Woman (Forest Boss)
Threats: Rolling Thorn suicides on death for ~750 AoE physical damage; Jaeger Woman uses firearm crafts with range and spread
Weaknesses and resistances: Bush Lancer weak to Earth 140%
Tactics: Defeat Rolling Thorns at range or heal immediately. For Jaeger Woman, close the gap quickly using Anelace's physical crafts while Estelle provides Tear support and earth/fire art bombardment.
Rewards: Massive sepith/EXP from Shining Pom
Enemies: Jaeger Leader (Kurt in Disguise)
Threats: Employs Kurt's dual-blade/spear arts, wide cleaves, craft cancel/delay techniques, and high HP
Tactics: Equip Estelle and Anelace with their recovered highest-tier weapons (Break Rod & Fencer). Buff with Anelace's crafts, keep spacing divided so both party members are not caught simultaneously in front-cleave arcs, and spam heavy arts (like Soul Blur or single-target elemental spells) while spending full 100/200 CP S-Breaks to burst down the final health bar.
Rewards: Closes out the Prologue storyline; awards full base and bonus BP upon graduation back to Liberl
