DRAGON QUEST VIII guide · visited to obtain a Great Sabrecat for traversing the continent

Upon arriving at this feline-shaped estate southeast of Baccarat, the party must correctly answer a brief series of questions from the gatekeeper Tom to gain entry. Inside, Master Felix requests assistance in putting his departed companion Baumren to rest, temporarily loaning a mount and granting the Sand of Serenity to deliver to a spirit tree at dawn. Returning to Felix after completing the errand permanently rewards the party with Baumren's Bell to summon a rideable Great Sabrecat across the continent.

Tips

When Tom quizzes you outside the entrance gate, choose the sympathetic options regarding animals ("Take it home and ask your family to let it stay," "Free the tiger from the trap and let it go," and "Let the great sabrecat join you on your travels") to be permitted inside.
