Ocean Palace
The party infiltrates this underwater sanctuary in 12,000 BC to halt Queen Zeal from using the Mammon Machine to siphon power from Lavos. Players must activate switches across multiple side chambers, descend a central elevator, and battle through monster gauntlets to reach the core. Reaching the inner sanctum triggers a climactic encounter against Lavos where Crono perishes to save his friends, causing the Ocean Palace to collapse.
