The short version
What matters
- •Unlocking Demolish by temporarily switching Kasuga to Foreman lets you reach the Black Market Merchant for Gold Safe Keys and stat-boosting accessories.
- •Electric attacks disable the Subterranean Excavator swiftly, preventing heavy hydraulic sweep damage from decimating your team.
- •AoE attacks like Spitfire or Thumbtack Scatter on turn one against Takabe's subordinates immediately equalize a dangerous 6-on-4 disadvantage.
Common mistakes
- •Rushing to the exit ladder in the Subterranean Construction Works permanently locks you out of the Slapjack, High Cut Shoes, Steel Frame, Wooden Flipper, and Makeup Pouch safes.
- •Opening the lone silver safe in the B2F Rest Area without using the adjacent Recovery Point leaves you vulnerable to a surprise mimic ambush.
- •Relying on Poundmates summons during the sewer trek will waste turns, as lack of cell reception disables your phone throughout the underground.

1
Break Free and Recover Gear
After Akira Mabuchi finishes filming your interrogation, talk through dialogue options with Nanba, Adachi, and Saeko until you can attempt to break your chains by force, triggering your rescue by a mysterious masked benefactor. Step into the First Holding Room to take down Foreman Yan and his crew solo as a Freelancer, focusing down Meng and Mo first before Yan to reclaim your full party and job classes. Grab the Throwing Knife from the cardboard boxes, open the silver safe for the Slapjack, and snag two Staminan X bottles from the briefcase right outside the cell by the Recovery Spot.
Key fight: Foreman Yan & Liumang WorkersTip: Workers Mo and Meng are weak to Fire and Blunt attacks; clear them out immediately with Tenacious Fist before tackling Yan.
Watch out: The Slapjack safe becomes permanently inaccessible once you climb the exit ladder to the surface later in the chapter.

2
Navigate Yokohama Underground B3F
Enter the sewer tunnels where lost cell reception disables Poundmates, forcing your party to battle roaming Liumang, construction workers, vagrants, and escaped patients in close quarters. Search the western dead-end for a Toughness Light inside a briefcase, pick up Comforting Medicine against the east wall, and locate Poseidon Power and Tauriner in the southeastern branch against the wall. Before heading deeper, unlock the silver safe on the north wall past the third battle for High Cut Shoes, and head down the northern fork to open another silver safe holding a Steel Frame.
Key fight: Yokohama Underground Roaming MobsTip: Corridors are narrow, making Nanba's fire abilities and Adachi's sweeping blunt skills ideal for clearing crowds quickly.
Watch out: High Cut Shoes and the Steel Frame will be lost permanently if you climb the exit ladder out of the sewers before grabbing them.

3
Rest at B2F and Spring the Mimic
Advance to the large B2F junction to save your progress, use the Recovery Point, and access the Item Storage Box. Approach the lone silver safe standing near the Save Point and open it to trigger a surprise ambush against a Shaman/Trickster mimic. Burn the mimic down with single-target physical burst attacks to secure a trophy for facing an enemy inside a safe.
Key fight: Silver Safe MimicTip: Fully heal your squad at the Recovery Point before interacting with the safe so you enter the mimic ambush at peak condition.
Watch out: Interacting with the safe instantly initiates combat without a confirmation prompt, which can wipe a wounded party.

Destroy the Excavator at B1F
Step into the Subterranean Construction Works chamber where deep dirt mounds, scaffolding, and a massive excavator block your exit ladder. Target the excavator's hydraulic arm with Electric abilities while keeping Kasuga's health topped off, then blast Foreman Yan with Blade and Fire strikes when the machine breaks down at 50% health. After securing the Crowbar weapon reward, scavenge the floor for Dirty Iron, Ragged Cloth, a Pearl, and Trash, then loot the two silver safes for a Wooden Flipper and a Makeup Pouch.
Key fight: Boss: Heavy Machinery – Excavator & Warehouse ForemanTip: The excavator is vulnerable to electricity but resists blunt and fire damage, whereas Foreman Yan is weak to both fire and blades.
Watch out: Do not interact with the ladder leading to the surface until you have looted the Wooden Flipper and Makeup Pouch, or they will be permanently missed.

Scale Restaurant Row Rooftops
Climb out into the alley near the Bar District and check behind the metal railing to the left of the initial stairs to spot the fifth Kappa statue for the Kappture the Kappa quest. Fight through the first rooftop combat room to find Garlic and Chinese Sticky Rice sitting on the ground directly past the threshold. Head down the rooftop stairs to open a safe containing a Professional's Whisk, then pick up nearby drops of a Handmade Steamed Bun, Hot Pepper, and Rough Hide before busting down the barricaded door using the Foreman job's Demolish skill to visit the Black Market Merchant.
Tip: Demolish must be learned by switching Kasuga to the Foreman job at least once if you want access to the Black Market Merchant's Gold Safe Keys.
Watch out: Moving too far ahead onto the terraces will advance you toward the boss arena, locking you out of exploring the rooftops.

6
Climax at Restaurant Row
Advance along the final connected roof terraces to face Captain Mamoru Takabe and his five Seiryu Clan subordinates in a 6-on-4 showdown. Wipe out the five subordinates on turn one using broad elemental attacks like Nanba's Spitfire, Eri's Thumbtack Scatter, or Saeko's status skills to erase their action advantage. Perfect Block Takabe's bleed-inducing katana combos, then lower his defenses to melt him with pure physical strikes to earn the Story Clear Trophy for Chapter 6.
Key fight: Chapter Climax: Mamoru Takabe & Seiryu Clan SubordinatesTip: Subordinates succumb quickly to Fire, Ice, and Blade attacks, while Takabe has no elemental weaknesses and requires heavy blunt and physical damage.
Watch out: Takabe's multi-hit katana skills inflict rapid bleed damage; failing to guard against them can quickly knock out your front-line fighters.

Enemies: Chinese mafia/Liumang operatives, construction workers, vagrants, and escaped patients (Lv. 16–18)
Threats: Smartphone connectivity is cut underground, disabling the use of Poundmates

Tactics: Target the Excavator's arm directly with high-damage attacks or Electric skills. Keep Kasuga's HP buffed to avoid one-shot wipeouts. At 50% HP, the excavator breaks down, throwing the Foreman out; shift to standard single-target burst and Fire skills to finish him.
Rewards: Crowbar weapon
Enemies: Mamoru Takabe (Lv. 19) + 5 Seiryu Clan Subordinates (Lv. 18–19)
