Persona 4 Golden guide · Guide to fusion mechanics, including Triangle Fusion and Skill Inheritance

The Velvet Room is where the protagonist can manage Personas through Normal Fusion, Triangle Fusion, and Special Fusion recipes. Players can summon registered Personas from the Compendium, accept Margaret's Social Link requests, and manage Skill Cards with Marie. Mastering fusion mechanics allows you to pass down optimal skill sets and create Personas well beyond your current base capabilities.

Velvet Room Compendium: Re-summon previously acquired or registered Personas in exchange for yen.
Marie (Skill Card Service): Register Skill Cards with Marie so they can be repurchased indefinitely for yen, or equip them directly to your active Personas.

Tips

In Normal (two-Persona) Fusion, the resulting Persona's arcana is determined by the combination of the two parent arcanas, and its base level is determined by averaging the parents' current levels and adding one.
Fusing two Personas of the exact same Arcana produces a Persona of that same Arcana at a lower tier than the parents' average level.
Triangle Fusion uses three Personas, where the game first pairs the two Personas with the lowest current levels to find an intermediate Arcana, and then fuses that intermediate result with the highest-level Persona to determine the final Arcana.
If all three Personas in a Triangle Fusion belong to the same Arcana, the resulting Persona will be a higher-tier Persona of that exact same Arcana rather than a lower one.
Unlike the original Persona 4, Persona 4 Golden allows you to manually choose the skills inherited by the resulting Persona rather than relying on random dice rolls.
The total number of skills you can choose to pass down into the new Persona depends strictly on the total number of unique skills known across all parent Personas.
