Persona 4 Golden guide · Walkthrough for all optional side quests given by NPCs
← All areas in this guide

Side quests in Persona 4 Golden are optional requests given primarily by schoolmates, townspeople across Inaba, and the Fox at Tatsuhime Shrine. Most quests require gathering specific materials dropped by shadows in the TV World, fetching items from other NPCs, or answering trivia questions. Completing them rewards cash, usable items, weapons, or raises your Social Link rank with the Hermit.

Worth doing

  • Talk to the Fox at Tatsuhime Shrine to read the wooden ema plaques and unlock new Hermit Social Link requests.
  • Visit Okina City via scooter once unlocked to find unique quest givers outside the cinema and clothing boutique.
  • Speak to the Funky Student on the 2F hallway of Yasogami High to answer series of riddle quests (Quests 04, 16, 21, 28, 38).

Shops and people

  • Daidara Metalworks: Crafts materials dropped from TV World shadows into quest-required weapons and armor.
  • Shiroku Pub: Trades Daidara bug materials for specialized gem equipment during evening hours.

Tips

  • You must talk to a quest giver to accept the quest before the relevant TV World shadows will begin dropping the requested materials.
  • Multiple quests require materials from previously cleared dungeons, so plan TV World trips to clear several fetch requests in a single run.
  • Rainy days change NPC locations and prevent many outdoor quest givers from appearing, so handle school and outdoor requests on sunny or cloudy days.
