Volga
Artyom and the crew of the Aurora are halted in the Volga river valley by a cult of anti-technology fanatics led by Silantius. Artyom must scout the flooded landscape, infiltrate the cult's stronghold to establish contact, and retrieve a railcar and a passenger car to continue the journey east. The player can explore numerous side outposts, rescue cultist prisoners, and avoid lethal force against locals to ensure Duke survives the chapter.

Enemies
Small burrowing mutants that emerge from holes in packs; best dealt with before they can swarm.
Zombie-like mutants that often play dead or hide inside mud and debris; throwing cans can lure them together.
Pack hunters that coordinate their attacks; kill the howling sentinel first to prevent reinforcements.
Flying apex predator that patrols open water and nests on high structures; can lift Artyom into the air.
Giant mutated catfish worshipped by the local cult; immune to regular small arms fire.
Moving ball of electricity that wanders at night; dealing no damage to it is advised, keep your distance until it passes.

Tips
- Do not kill any Church of the Water Tsar cultists or bridge guards; stealth and non-lethal takedowns are required to keep Duke alive.
- Bring the guitar and the teddy bear back to the Aurora to complete side objectives for Stepan and Nastya.
- Sleep at designated rest sites to switch the time of day to night, which makes stealth against bandits and cultists much easier.
- Keep your weapons clean using workbenches, as the muddy waters of Volga cause firearms to foul and jam very quickly.
