The Castle

Fallout 4 guide · reclaiming the Minutemen base
← All areas in this guide

The Castle is a star-shaped coastal fortification that served as the former headquarters of the Minutemen. The Sole Survivor travels here during the quest "Taking Independence" to help Preston Garvey and a squad of Minutemen wipe out a Mirelurk infestation and clear out egg clutches across the walls and courtyard. Reclaiming the fort unlocks it as a major settlement and later allows access to its sealed armory and a powerful artillery support system.

  • Use the sturdy interior hallways and battlements as cover to block the Mirelurk Queen's acid projectile volleys.
