Lothering

Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition guide · After leaving Ostagar
← All areas in this guide

Lothering is a small village serving as a refuge for survivors fleeing the disaster at Ostagar. The Warden must navigate the overwhelmed town to recruit new companions, gather provisions, and resolve disputes among refugees. Once the party leaves Lothering and completes any other major story destination, the darkspawn destroy the town, permanently cutting off access to the area and its quests.

  • Recruit Leliana by visiting the Dane's Refuge tavern and surviving the brawl against the Loghain-aligned soldiers.
  • Recruit Sten by finding him locked in a cage on the northern edge of the village and convincing the Revered Mother to place him in your custody.
  • Craft and deliver several herbalist salves and traps to local NPCs to gain easy early-game gold and experience points before the village is lost.
