The Warden enters the Korcari Wilds alongside fellow recruits Jory and Daveth under orders from Duncan to retrieve three vials of darkspawn blood and a cache of ancient Grey Warden treaties. While exploring the swamp, the party encounters scattered darkspawn patrols, wildlife, and signs of the mysterious Chasind people before eventually meeting Morrigan and her mother, Flemeth. Completing these tasks allows the party to return to Ostagar and proceed with the Joining ritual.

- You permanently lose access to the Korcari Wilds once you return to Duncan and complete the Joining ritual, so thoroughly explore every path before returning to Ostagar.
- Bring herbalism ingredients and utilize poultices frequently, as the mix of ranged archers and magic-casting emissaries can overwhelm an early-game party.
- Set Daveth and Jory's tactics before engaging deep encounters so Daveth focuses down enemy spellcasters from a distance while Jory shields the frontline.
