Imprisoned in the dungeons of Castle La Valette, Geralt is interrogated by Vernon Roche regarding King Foltest's assassination. Through dialogue choices, Geralt recounts the events of the castle assault in four distinct playable flashbacks. After completing the recollections, Roche unties Geralt, leaving him to escape the dungeon and board a ship to Flotsam.

Uses large shields that deflect frontal sword strikes; requires rolling behind them or staggering with Signs.

Aryan La Valette

Weak to Parrying, Aard

Boss opponent atop the tower; you can fight him alone, fight him with his guard, or convince him to surrender peacefully.

Tips

You can choose the order in which you recount the flashbacks to Vernon Roche, but completing all of them is necessary to advance the story.
During the dungeon escape sequence, you can extinguish torches to hide in shadows and silently knock out guards from behind rather than fighting them outright.
