Geralt arrives at the riverside trading outpost of Flotsam to identify the kingslayer who murdered King Foltest. He must negotiate local tensions between the town commander Loredo, the Scoia'tael leader Iorveth, and Vernon Roche while tracking down ingredients to defeat the river monster known as the Kayran. The chapter culminates in choosing to align with either Roche or Iorveth before sailing downstream to Upper Aedirn.

Shops and people

Berthold Candeleria: Crafts weapons, armor, and sells high-tier steel and silver sword diagrams in the artisan district of Flotsam.
Cedric: Sells trap diagrams, alchemy formulas, and bow supplies from his perch outside the village of Binduga.
Fioravanti: Sells varied alchemy ingredients, books, and runestones at the central market square of Flotsam.

Tips

Craft and stockpile Grapeshot bombs early to seal Nekker nests throughout the forest for substantial bonus experience and crowns.
Drink the Mongoose potion just prior to entering the Kayran's lair to completely negate its deadly poison damage aura.
Use the Medallion frequently when walking through the woods to highlight Snare traps on the forest floor, which can be disarmed and reused.
