The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker guide · First descent beneath the sea

Link travels beneath the Great Sea inside a magical bubble and arrives at the grayscale, time-frozen Hyrule Castle. To proceed, he must solve a block puzzle beneath the central statue to reach the basement and claim the Master Sword. Drawing the blade restores color and time to the castle, forcing Link to defeat all the newly awakened monsters before he can depart.

Tips

You must defeat every single enemy in the main castle chamber after drawing the Master Sword, as magical barriers block the exits until the hall is cleared.
Pick up the discarded broadswords dropped by defeated Darknuts to deal heavy damage to the remaining monsters in the room.
