Southern Swamp

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask guide · After obtaining the Ocarina of Time
← All areas in this guide

The Southern Swamp serves as the gateway to the Woodfall region, initially covered in hazardous purple poison that damages Link unless he is traversing via boat or lily pads. To proceed toward Woodfall Temple and rescue the Deku Princess, Link must heal the injured witch Koume with a Red Potion to restore boat cruise services and navigate deep into the Deku Palace. After cleansing the swamp by defeating the boss of Woodfall Temple, the poison clears entirely, unlocking new mini-games and scenic access throughout the waterways.
