← All areas in this guide

Ikana Castle is an undead fortress in Ikana Canyon guarded by reanimated soldiers and dark creatures. Link must navigate its ruins, press switches, and use the Mirror Shield to reflect sunlight to access the courtyard and roof. The destination is the throne room, where defeating the king and his two lieutenants teaches Link the "Elegy of Emptiness."

Enemies

ReDead
Weak to Light Arrows, sunlight reflected by Mirror Shield, Fire Arrows

Freezes Link with a shriek; dancing when wearing the Gibdo Mask, Garo's Mask, or Captain's Hat prevents them from attacking.

Floormaster

Splits into three smaller hands when attacked; destroy the small hands before they recombine.

Wizzrobe
Weak to Arrows, Hookshot, or Sword strikes when vulnerable

Warps between teleport pads shooting ice blasts; strikes leave it temporarily stunned.

Igos du Ikana's Lackeys
Weak to Fire Arrows, sunlight from the Mirror Shield

Two skeleton guards who fight alongside the king; burn their bodies or burn their remains with sunlight to finish them.

King Igos du Ikana
Weak to Sunlight reflected with the Mirror Shield

Fights with a sword and floating head attacks; burning the curtains opens sunlight to weaken and finish him.

Tips

  • Equip the Captain's Hat, Gibdo Mask, or Garo's Mask when walking past ReDeads to make them dance and prevent them from paralyzing Link.
  • Use Fire Arrows to burn away the throne room's window curtains to introduce patches of sunlight during the boss battle.
  • The Lens of Truth can help identify safe footholds on floating platform sections above the castle.
