Starfield guide · The game's opening mining mission

Vectera is the moon of Anselon where the game begins at the Argos Extractors Mining Outpost. You start by learning basic movement and mining with a Cutter, touch a mysterious Artifact that induces a vision, and then defend the surface facility from a Crimson Fleet pirate raid before receiving your first starship from Barrett.

Tips

Use your Cutter to harvest the Beryllium deposits marked along the cave walls during the introductory walk to get a head start on crafting materials.
Take time to loot the pirate corpses and cargo containers scattered around the landing platform before taking off in the Frontier, as you can quickly stockpile starting ammunition and medical supplies.
