The area in the order you play it. Tick things off as you go: they tick off in the checklists below too.

  1. 1

    Arrive at Colter

When you reach the abandoned mining settlement of Colter in the Grizzlies West alongside the Van der Linde gang, take stock of the town's layout. You can find Dutch van der Linde and Hosea Matthews holding meetings and giving story missions inside the larger central cabin, while Pearson keeps shared supplies in the northwest mess cabin. Abigail Roberts, Jack Marston, and the injured John Marston rest in the eastern medical quarters, Arthur Morgan's bed sits in a small cabin on the south side, and Charles Smith and Javier Escuella stay by the outdoor hitching posts and campfires.

Tip: Note that this abandoned settlement has no vendors, shops, traders, merchants, or upgrade services during Chapter 1.

  2. 2

    Scavenge the Settlement and Graves

While exploring the camp, step inside the ruined wooden cabin near the campsite to collect a stash containing an Opened Miracle Tonic, an Opened Health Cure, and Classic Oatcakes. Head past the ruined chapel in Colter to reach the small cluster of graves in the churchyard cemetery just behind the building. Here you can inspect Davey Callender's Grave to progress tracking for the "Paying Respects" achievement.

Watch out: Do not worry about missing Davey Callender's grave now, as it remains permanently interactable through the rest of the game and the Epilogue.

  3. 3

    Clear Adler Ranch

Ride out on the mission "Outlaws from the West" to investigate the nearby homestead. When you enter the barn at Adler Ranch, you will fight an ambushing O’Driscoll in close combat. After defeating him, search his body to collect basic pocket loot.

Watch out: Do not spend extra time searching the barn ambusher for rare equipment, as he drops only standard pocket loot and no unique items.

  4. 4

Raid the Camp at Mount Hagen

Travel to Mount Hagen during the mission "Old Friends" to launch an attack against Colm O'Driscoll's hideout. Fight through the rival O'Driscolls defending the camp, who drop standard ammunition and loot once downed.

Tip: Keep an eye out for Micah's Revolver, which is naturally located at Mount Hagen.

  5. 5

    Ambush Cornwall's Train

Ride toward the railway tracks cutting through the Grizzlies to intercept Leviticus Cornwall's private train during the mission "Who the Hell is Leviticus Cornwall?". Board the train and fight your way through Cornwall's guards across the cars in the Ambarino mountains, looting them for regular pocket money and ammo.

  6. 6

    Loot the Luxury Train Car

Enter Leviticus Cornwall's private luxury train carriage before concluding the heist. Take the Oil Company Letter to Cornwall directly off the desk near the door inside the car. Search the desk again to pick up the Mining Company Letter to Cornwall before you leave or detonate the safe.

Tip: Grab both letters from the luxury car's desk in a single visit while clearing the train's interior.

Watch out: Be sure to collect both letters from the desk before blowing up the safe or exiting the carriage, or they will be lost.
