Commander Shepard travels to the volcanic world of Therum in the Artemis Tau cluster to track down and recruit the Asari scientist Dr. Liara T'Soni. You navigate the Mako through rugged canyons and enemy-held Geth fortifications before proceeding on foot into a Prothean ruin. Inside the subterranean excavation site, you must disable a force field trap to free Liara and defeat an ambush led by a Krogan Battlemaster.

Tips
- A narrow rock passage near the end of the surface drive prevents the Mako from following the main trail, forcing you to proceed on foot, but skilled maneuvering can squeeze the vehicle through the gap to bring vehicle firepower into the courtyard battle.
- Save your biotic disables or tech debuffs for the final confrontation against the Krogan Battlemaster, as his sprint charge can knock down and wipe your squad instantly in the confined room.
- Enter the mining laser override code sequence correctly (A-X-B-Y on Xbox controllers, or the corresponding face buttons displayed on your platform) to cut through the rock below Liara without triggering an explosive failure.
