Mass Effect 1 (Legendary Edition) guide · After Citadel under attack

Shepard lands on the lost Prothean world of Ilos to pursue Saren and prevent him from activating the Citadel relay for Sovereign. You must fight through Geth defenses on foot to disable the security lockdown, speak with the Prothean VI Vigil, and then drive the Mako through the Conduit trench before it closes.

Geth Armature

Weak to Anti-synthetic rounds, Tech powers (Overload/Sabotage)

Often encountered in courtyards alongside foot soldiers; vulnerable to Mako fire.

Geth Colossus

Weak to Heavy weaponry, High Explosive rounds, Tech powers

Found guarding the trench approach; possesses a powerful siege cannon and can repair itself.

Geth Prime

Weak to Tech powers (Energy Drain, Overload), Damping

Heavy infantry that buffs nearby Geth and fires devastating pulse cannon blasts.

Geth Ghost

Weak to Biotics (Lift, Throw) to bypass cloaking

Highly agile stealth units that jump on walls and ambush your squad in the ruins.

Tips

Do not exit the Mako during the trench run toward the Conduit; the countdown timer leaves very little room for delay.
Use the Mako's cannon and machine gun to eliminate the Geth Colossus and Armatures guarding the Conduit ramp rather than engaging them on foot.
Exhaust all dialogue options with the VI Vigil to receive the data file needed to override Saren's Citadel master control, as well as crucial lore details.
Once you drop down the elevator shaft in the Mako after speaking to Vigil, you are locked into the endgame sequence with no way to return to the Normandy.
