FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH guide · Chapter 2: Arrival at the town
← All areas in this guide

The party arrives in the idyllic, walled town of Kalm to rest at the local inn after the flashback sequence of Nibelheim. Cloud explores the town, gathers provisions, and eventually has to escape across the rooftops and through underground tunnels when Shinra infantry locks down the settlement. Successfully slipping through the outskirts leads directly into the Grasslands region, where the journey continues.

Shops and people

  • Item Vendor: Potions, Hi-Potions, Antidotes, and Phoenix Downs
  • Bookstore (Maghnata Books): Folios that provide skill points and stat enhancements for party members
  • Queen's Blood Card Vendor: Booster packs and individual Queen's Blood playing cards to expand your starter deck

Tips

  • Talk to locals sitting at tables in the tavern and outdoor squares to play Queen's Blood matches and raise your card rank early.
  • Use the Item Transmuter feature introduced here to craft consumable items from regional materials rather than spending all your gil at vendors.
  • Look for vending machines paired with resting benches near the outskirts to fully restore the party's HP and MP without using up items.
