Old Yharnam

Bloodborne guide · After opening the Cathedral Ward gate
← All areas in this guide

Old Yharnam is a ruined district consumed by ashen blood and burned to contain the beast scourge. As the Hunter progresses downward through the ruins, a retired hunter named Djura fires upon them with a high-powered Gatling gun mounted on a tower. Navigating the dilapidated streets and churches leads to the Church of the Good Chalice, where the Blood-starved Beast must be defeated.

Shops and people

  • Djura: Offers the "Brush Off Dust" gesture and the Powder Keg Hunter Badge if you approach him peacefully from the rear route and agree to spare the beasts

Tips

  • Throwing a Pungent Blood Cocktail against a wall or pillar will distract the Blood-starved Beast and other beast-type enemies for several seconds, leaving them open to free attacks.
  • Equip armor with high slow poison resistance, such as the Gascoigne Set or Charred Hunter Set, and keep Antidotes equipped to your quick-item bar throughout this area.
  • You can quickly defeat Djura by climbing to the top of his ladder and immediately firing your firearm at him several times to knock him off the edge of the tower.
