Active Investigations
Active Investigations is a central sub-area inside the Investigations Sector added in the AWE expansion. Jesse must clear out Hiss darkness and navigate through several office corridors and utility spaces to reach and weaken the monstrous creature Hartmann. Restoring power to lighting systems is critical to surviving encounters and advancing deeper toward the sector's climax.

Lurks in the dark; entering lit areas repels him and makes him vulnerable to damage.
Standard ranged combatant wielding firearms; can be dispatched quickly using Launch or Pierce.
Hovering ranged enemy that dodges direct projectiles; ground them using sustained fire or Area-of-Effect attacks.
Tips
- Hartmann will instantly drain your health while you stand in darkness, so always prioritize moving between lit pools or carrying power cores to floodlights.
- Use Evade to quickly cross unlit stretches rather than sprinting to minimize Hartmann's damage over time.
- The Surge weapon form excels at setting traps around corners when clearing out Hiss clusters in narrow office corridors.
