Lake of Lost Souls
The Lake of Lost Souls is an eerie, corrupted water area in Fellhollow where adventurers track down an essential quest item needed to confront Imaru during Withering Heights. Players enter the hidden underground vault (Vekchenven Kara) near the red waterfall, solve traversal obstacles using magic, and defeat the guardian inside to claim the relic.

Key fights
Enemies: Zogre (accompanied by exploding plants, Lost Souls, and a ticking arrival threat from Imaru)
Threats: Heavy melee strikes, Wither buildup covering the arena floor, explosive spore hazards, and summoning/aggroing Lost Souls if the realm flips into the soul/spectral state
Weaknesses and resistances: Vulnerable to ranged attacks (arrows/magic) and fire; dangerous to engage in close melee due to dense surrounding Wither pools
Tactics: Before flipping the realm, sprint past the boss using Windstep toward the clean zone near the locked rear gate, then look right and use Windstep to leap onto the elevated high-ground wall ledge (sniper's nest) to safely rain down ranged attacks out of reach while avoiding floor rot
Rewards: Curse Fragment of Rage, Vault Core, access to the rear vault chest, a Soul Well, and unlockable progression door

Mini-boss encountered at the conclusion of the vault who attacks in melee and hurls boulders at range

- Doric: Offers the quest Seeking Salvation and unlocks the Salve Amulet recipe
Tips
- Contract the Soul Rift status by touching Wither Rot on the ground to manifest an invisible spectral bridge across chasms, then cleanse the effect at a fountain once safely across.
- Erect a portable Lodestone right outside the vault entrance prior to entering so you can quickly retrieve lost gear if you fall in battle.
