Brittle Hollow
Outer Wilds guide · Second major planet exploration
← All areas in this guide
Brittle Hollow is a collapsing planet with a miniature black hole at its center, bombarded constantly by volcanic meteors from its moon Hollow's Lantern. You must navigate its treacherous surface and underground ruins to learn about the Nomai, uncover quantum rules, and find a route to the hidden Black Hole Forge. As time passes throughout the loop, surface crust segments break apart and fall into the black hole, making exploration an urgent race against terrain destruction.

Shops and people
- Riebeck: Offers campfire rest, roasted marshmallows, banjo music, and helpful dialogue regarding their fear of space and archaeological findings on Brittle Hollow.
Tips
- Falling through the central black hole will not kill you; it teleports you to the White Hole in deep space, where you can use the nearby White Hole Station to warp straight back to Brittle Hollow.
- Keep a close eye on the structural integrity of the ground beneath your feet, as whole sections will crumble into the void without warning if struck by meteors.
