Persona 3 Reload guide · Overview of floors, bosses, and exploration mechanics
← All areas in this guide

Tartarus is the massive labyrinthine tower that appears during the Dark Hour, serving as the primary dungeon of the game. Players explore its randomly generated floors by battling Shadows, gathering materials, and finding staircase portals to reach higher levels. Progress through the tower is gated by periodic physical barriers that only unlock after specific full moon calendar events.

  • Splitting up your party with the recon command allows teammates to scout the floor, gather items, and locate the stairs quickly at the cost of fighting solo if they encounter an enemy.
  • You can fast travel between the entrance and any discovered two-way teleportation terminal to freely manage your party and Persona compendium.
  • Breaking glowing orange and blue crystalline formations on floors yields tradeable treasure items and occasional Twilight Fragments.
