You visit Hogsmeade with a companion (Natsai Onai or Sebastian Sallow) to replace the supplies lost during the prologue. You must visit four specific shops to collect your wand, seeds, spellcraft, and potion ingredients before meeting your companion at the Three Broomsticks. The visit culminates in an ambush by an Armoured Troll, leading to your first introduction to Ancient Magic in combat and repair duties around the square.

- Ollivanders: Customises and awards your permanent wand free of charge during the quest
- Spintwitches Sporting Needs: Sells brooms and broom upgrades later, but is closed during your initial supply run
- Tomes and Scrolls: Sells spellcraft recipes for Conjurations; provides the Potting Table with Small Pot spellcraft during this visit
- J. Pippin's Potions: Sells potion recipes and ingredients; provides the Edurus and Wiggenweld Potion recipes during this visit
- The Magic Neep: Sells seeds, fertiliser, and plant produce; provides Dittany seeds during this visit
Tips
- Cast Revelio frequently while walking the streets, as Hogsmeade contains dozens of Field Guide Pages hidden near storefronts and landmarks.
- You do not need money for your required supplies on this first trip; all quest-related items are provided for zero Galleons.
- Use Ancient Magic Throw on the barrels and crates scattered around the town square during the troll fight to deal massive burst damage.
- After defeating the troll, cast Reparo on the destroyed merchant carts and storefronts to clean up the area before heading into the Three Broomsticks.
