Clagmar Castle is a sprawling, high-level Ashwinder stronghold located in the southern part of the Clagmar Coast region. Infiltrating the fortress involves clearing out large groups of dark wizards, eliminating an Infamous Foe, and gathering valuable collection chests. You can also solve an Ancient Magic hotspot and a Merlin Trial found on the premises.

Silvanus Selwyn

Weak to Stun spells, Ancient Magic

An Infamous Foe and Ashwinder lieutenant who commands the stronghold and can be targeted for a local side quest.

Ashwinder Duellist

Weak to Breaking shields with matching spell types

Capable of casting powerful Unforgivable Curses that must be dodged rather than blocked.

Ashwinder Executioner

Weak to Expelliarmus to interrupt lightning magic

Charges up area-of-effect lightning storms that can be turned back against them.

Tips

Use the Disillusionment Charm along with Petrificus Totalus to quietly thin out the perimeter guards before alerting Silvanus Selwyn and the heavy spellcasters.
Clagmar Castle contains an active Floo Flame just outside the main gate, which you should unlock first for a fast escape or return route.
Brewing and drinking a Maxima and Edurus potion combination is strongly recommended if you decide to fight the entire courtyard out in the open, due to the high density of high-level dark wizards.
