City of Ephyra
The City of Ephyra is the first region encountered when Melinoë ventures to the Surface, characterized by plague-ridden streets besieged by Chronos's forces. Progression requires destroying several protective pylons scattered through interconnected neighborhood encounters to unseal the central gateway. Once the barriers fall, Melinoë can proceed to the harbor to face Polyphemus the Cyclops.

Tips
- You must unlock and cast the incantation 'Permeation of Witching-Wards' at the cauldron in the Crossroads, or Melinoë will continuously take damage over time while on the Surface.
- Look for purple spirit-chains leading away from the locked central gate to determine which districts still contain active pylons you need to destroy.
- Watch your positioning around Polyphemus's sheep, as accidentally hitting them or standing near the golden ram can disrupt your dodges during his ground slams.
