Key fights

Poison Chief (Four Encounters)

Enemies: Four distinct Poison Chief field bosses scattered across the swampy lowlands

Threats: Ground slams, burrowing ambushes, vomiting pools of poisonous sludge, and hurling toxic mud boulders

Weaknesses and resistances: Resistant to Poison damage; vulnerable to Burn and heavy poise-breaking stagger attacks

Tactics: Bait their wind-ups on solid terrain away from the poison water, utilize Pillar Stance to elevate above ground poison sludge, and focus damage immediately after their heavy boulder throws

Rewards: Will, Cold Iron Leaves, Refined Iron Sand, Mind Cores

Son of Stones

Enemies: A colossal stone giant seated along the cliffside ledge near the Verdant Path

Threats: Massive wide-arc fist sweeps, ground fissures, shockwaves that knock the player off edges, and extremely high physical armor

Weaknesses and resistances: Immune to Poison and Bleed; weak to heavy jumping heavy attacks targeted directly at its head and shoulders

Tactics: Fight in open footing away from the cliff edge, stagger its legs to trigger a collapse, then leap or use Pillar Stance to deliver charged heavy attacks directly to its cranium

Rewards: Will, Monastic Staff, Mind Core

Lang-Baw-Baw

Enemies: An ancient colossal stone frog boss located in a rocky depression in the lower plateau

Threats: Petrifying body slams, tongue whips, toxic mud spews, and stomps generating delayed stone ripples

Weaknesses and resistances: High physical defense; vulnerable to shock/thunder attacks and standard burn

Tactics: Circle-strafe behind its hind legs to avoid frontal tongue sweeps, dodge sideways through its delayed shockwaves, and stagger it out of its belly-flop recovery

Rewards: Will, Tadpole, Refined Iron Sand, Mind Core

Jiao-Loong of Waves

Enemies: An amphibious dragon boss submerged in the sprawling lake beds

Threats: Sweeping tail lashes, frost breath, sudden underwater diving lunges, and arena-wide water geysers

Weaknesses and resistances: Immune to Chill/Frost; susceptible to Burn/Fire attacks and Thrust Stance counter-pokes

Tactics: Stay close to its torso while fighting in shallow water to avoid its diving charge, roll forward through its wide tail sweeps, and use Fire transformations (such as Red Tides) to melt its health pool

Rewards: Will, Pearl Tree, Refined Iron Sand, Mind Core

Water-Wood Beast

Enemies: A massive amphibious hippo-like beast dwelling in the marshy waters

Threats: Biting charges, rolling body crushes, high-speed submerged lunges, and water shockwaves

Weaknesses and resistances: Resistant to water and freeze effects; vulnerable to heavy stagger, Immobilize, and shock damage

Tactics: Lure it to the margins of the pool to maintain movement speed, dodge laterally to evade its straight-line roll attack, and burst it down with A Pluck of Many while it recovers from missed charges

Rewards: Will, Kun Steel, Mind Core

Giant Shigandang

Enemies: A titanic mountain-sized stone monstrosity summoned in the northern gorge

Threats: Colossal dual-fist smashes causing arena-wide seismic shockwaves, sweeping arm sweeps, and collapsing body falls

Weaknesses and resistances: Highly resistant to all standard attacks across its body; glowing crystalline weak points on its hands and arms

Tactics: Stay near its fists when they slam down to avoid shockwaves via jumping, focus all heavy attacks directly on the glowing blue crystals on its hands, and sprint clear when it prepares its full-body faceplant

Rewards: Will, Skandha of Feeling, Heart of Stone
