After arriving in the fog-covered East South Vale district of Silent Hill, James explores the streets, shops, and alleyways to pick up supplies and uncover clues. Navigating around blocked roads and encountering the first monsters leads him to the Wood Side Apartments key on Martin Street. Once the key is obtained, James enters Wood Side Apartments from Katz Street to continue searching for Mary.

Radio static grows louder as monsters draw near, so monitor the static and flashlight toggle to avoid wandering into ambushes in the dense fog.
