Chapter 4: Rhodes Hill 3 (Basement)

Grace must navigate the dark, flooded sublevels beneath the care center to locate Emily and gather three Joint Plugs needed to unlock the holding cells. While rerouting power through generators and maneuvering around conveyor systems in Inspection and Processing, she must evade the stalking monster known as The Girl. Once Emily is freed, both make a frantic dash to the basement elevator to ascend back to the facility above.

Processing Pit Gauntlet

Enemies: Waves of reanimated zombies along a moving floor

Threats: Swarming Grace while forcing her backward toward lethal industrial meat grinders

Weaknesses and resistances: Shotgun or pistol shots targeting knee joints

Tactics: Shoot approaching enemies in the legs so they stagger onto the moving belts, allowing the industrial grinders to chew them up while saving scarce ammo

Rewards: Joint Plug #3 and safe access to the blood pool drain valve

A mutated, long-limbed stalker that roams unlit hallways; she cannot enter fully illuminated rooms and will briefly recoil if hit with fire.

Sluggish reanimated corpses found trapped in holding cells or lying across corridors, some of which play dead until approached.

Tips

Because The Girl will not step into brightly lit zones, always sprint toward safe rooms or powered power conduits when she ambushes you in the dark corridors.
