Talos I Exterior (Endgame)
During the endgame, the exterior of Talos I is overrun by the massive Apex Typhon, which has ensnared the entire station in colossal tentacles. If pursuing the "A Mind Without Borders" objective, Morgan must navigate through the zero-G debris and hazardous coral to reach the Apex's beak or neural nodes to deploy the prototype Nullwave transmitter. The environment is extremely hostile, requiring careful navigation around writhing tendrils and high-tier Typhon to complete the mission or reach external airlocks.
Enemies
Massive tendrils that sweep through space; they cause massive physical damage if they strike Morgan and cannot be conventionally killed.
Small explosive floating kamikaze organisms lurking within the coral fields around the station hull.
Often patrols the open space around key exterior breaches and airlocks during the endgame.
Roams near damaged machinery and exterior station modules.
Tips
- Use Propulsion boost bursts conservatively rather than holding down thrust to maneuver smoothly through the dense clouds of radioactive coral and debris.
- You can bait floating clusters of Cystoids by throwing unneeded loose debris or firing a GLOO cannon pellet near them, causing them to detonate safely away from you.
- Direct contact with the central mass or flailing limbs of the Apex Typhon will rapidly drain your suit integrity and health, so maintain maximum distance while traveling between exterior quest markers.
