After the crash following the Himalayas, Indy and Gina wake up in an active war zone amidst the Japanese bombardment of Shanghai. Indy must escape ruined structures, cross damaged streets and canals, reach a Chinese biplane perched on a rooftop, and fight off enemy aircraft in the skies.

Key fights

Defend the Plane

Enemies: Japanese fighter planes, followed by an enemy tail gunner on the wing

Threats: Strafing runs and machine gun fire at close range, plus close-quarters melee combat mid-flight

Weaknesses and resistances: Sustained machine gun bursts to plane engines/fuselages; direct strikes to knock the gunner off balance

Tactics: Man the biplane's mounted turret to shoot down attacking aircraft, then leap to an adjacent fighter wing to overpower the gunner and commander

Rewards: Allows Indy and Gina to hijack the aircraft and fly out toward Siam (Sukhothai).

Tips

Save machine gun fire for when incoming enemy fighters align directly in your sights to avoid overheating the mounted turret during the aerial escape.
